Summary: Very Good For The Money
Comment: So far, I'm impressed with the quality of the unit for what I paid (much less than Amazon is now charging!).
It doesn't tell the inside humidity, which would be nice, but it does tell me the outside temperature and the exact time, which is what I was looking for. So far I find the outside temperature to be very accurate unlike some other reviewers. I did take my time and try several locations, and did find that they varied quite a bit. I ended up putting the outside sensor under a step on my deck on the north side of the house.

Summary: Awesome!
Comment: This is very easy to read, and stylish looking. I placed it on top of the TV, in my living room and use it daily! It seems to be right on for outside temperature, but, I wish it had the wind chill number. Indoor temperature is accurate.

Summary: Great Unit, Fantastic Price, Just FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
Comment: Got this Temperature Station "for the Wife" for XMas from Amazon for $17.99 w/ Free Shipping. Should have bought two or three at that price; it's now ~$32.
Based on previous reviews, we followed the instructions to the letter, specifically (a) clear a tabletop and open the box (b) put the outdoor sending unit on the table about 3 feet from the indoor unit (c)put batteries in SENDING unit, THEN indoor unit (d) walk away for at least 15 minutes. Works great first time.
Our sending unit is on a shielded North-facing porch (adjacent to my shop; no direct sunlight, no rain)about 100 feet from the indoor unit, through 1 brick wall and three stud walls.
Accuracy seems to be about +/- 0.5 degrees F. checked with a good alcohol thermometer over 5 days.
Our biggest problem has been WHERE to put the inside unit. We're still moving it around the house looking for the best spot. For us, it would be ideal to have ONE remote sender and TWO inside units (say, Master Bedroom and Kitchen).
My only gripe is the lack of a back-light like our thermostat (comes on when you touch the screen) but at this price-point I feel bad even mentioning that.
My father-in-law says he uses a commercial version of this unit in his apple orchard in upstate New York, and his only gripe is with where his folks put the sending units; he says it should be away from anything with high thermal mass, like foundations, masonry walls, vehicles, machinery, etc. Also don't put near the Air Conditioning compressor unit. Generally, the same recommendations that the Weather Service has so much trouble following with THEIR weather stations (hence, "Global Warming").
Most folks won't be as picayune about the accuracy of the outside temps, but it's good to know that this unit will do the job if you care. Just follow the instructions. And if the price goes below $20 again, buy two.

Summary: you get what you pay for.. sometimes less
Comment: I have a lot of temperature monitors because I have a passive heating system that depends of my attic heating to a certain point-- The La Crosse is a little cheaper, but does not have some of the useful functions like humidity. The remote sensor is not as straight forward as others and requires inserting batteries in remotes in sequence to link them. The biggest "red flag" to me is that with the base unit and the remote sitting next to each other, they don't have the same temperature-- after watching it for a week, they generally run about 2 off each other. I tried to contact La Crosse via email and phone but have received no response at all.

Summary: The best I've found
Comment: I highly recommend this temperature station. It's the best I've seen: reliable, displays just the right amount of information (time, date, temperature inside and out), and is sleekly elegant and unobtrusive in both my office and living room. And very reasonable. It couldn't be improved upon, it's exactly what I want.
