The Diamond Series HD-Upgradeable televisions represent the best, most innovative advances in technology, refined style, features, and performance today. Of course, the Diamond Series projection televisions include all the performance and features of the PlatinumPlus Series and, with the neat features added, these remarkable TVs are in a class of their own.Tru-Focus Lenses deliver improved optical performance with the benefit of new lens element contours, adding further depth and detail for a film-like HDTV image. Styled for the sophisticated home, these Diamond Series models easily accommodate custom furniture and built-in installations. Gold-Plated Connectors ensure the best possible contacts for all input and output signals, including S-video and component video. Provided via 6" woofers and 1.5" tweeters, this audio has improved stereo imaging, louder volume levels, and lower distortion while producing deeper bass and extended high frequencies. With the addition of an HDTV digital receiver, all Mitsubishi HD-Upgradeable televisions will offer uncompromising True HDTV high definition performance.Projection TV screen shields provide one and sometimes two benefits. All shields protect the screen from damage. Some are also tinted to provide blacker blacks by blocking the light in the room from washing out the screen. However, these tinted shields also dim the picture, since they also absorb much of the TVs own illumination. Mitsubishi introduces its exclusive ColorTuned Diamond Shield. Technically, it is a selective filter that passes the wavelengths of light generated by the red, blue and green CRTs, but does not pass other colors. Its clever optical design blocks yellow and orange light, which are the main components in sunlight and home lighting. So it provides blacker blacks without dimming the picture.

Useful: HDTV: What do "analog" and "digital" mean, and how are they different?
Analog refers to the signal format used to transmit today's television, also called NTSC. Digital signals also can transmit television, but they are much more efficient and can carry many times more information than analog. The highest quality digital TV signals will be high-definition or HDTV, are defined as either 720 lines or 1080 lines of vertical resolution. While the signals are different, today's analog sets will be able to receive the new digital signals by using a TeVCA adapter box. |
