Useful: Do I need a TV with an integrated HDTV tuner?
Not necessarily. Displaying HDTV does require a special signal converter either built into the TV (an integrated tuner) or as an external box that may come from the cable or satellite company that provides your HDTV service.
TVs with integrated tuners can receive any locally broadcast HDTV signals via an antenna without any additional equipment, but they usually cost more. "HDTV-ready" TVs accept HDTV signals but they do not have an internal tuner and so require an external signal converter. |
